Do you work outside of Santa Barbara?
Yes. Karla Ovalle Design offers both virtual and in-person interior design services, allowing us to work with clients beyond the Santa Barbara area.
Do you work with existing pieces, or does everything need to be new?
Existing pieces are often the starting point not the exception. Antiques, heirlooms, and collected furniture can be restored, reupholstered, reimagined, and thoughtfully integrated into the design rather than replaced.
What does the investment look like?
Every project is scoped individually. Investment is discussed during your consultation once we understand the scope, complexity, and reach of the work.
How long does a typical project take?
Timelines vary by scope. A single-room transformation will move differently than a full remodel or new build. Once we reach Schematic Design, we’ll establish a realistic timeline for your project.
Do you handle construction and contractor coordination, or just design?
Both. From Construction Documents through installation, we work alongside your contractor to carry the design through execution. For virtual projects, coordination happens through Zoom and other digital communication, allowing us to stay closely connected throughout the process.
